Yesterday saw my second visit in five days to Silverstone, this time for the Silverstone Classic Media and Test Day. A shame we were not blessed with a repeat of Saturdays sun but still a good day.

the Classic meeting in July looks like being a great event.

Another photographer fails to get the Penthouse & Durex cars in the same shot ;)

The Classic is a great event and i understand it will be televised this year. Thanks for sharing the images :)

Great pictures looked like an awesome event and the Lancia is one of my "life list" cars I need to see.

Nice photos... I've been trying for the Durex/Penthouse car shot for years.

The Silverstone Classic used to be a great event but like most things it has become popular, a "major event" and has been ruined. Access isn't what it was and the prices have sky rocketed. Two years ago I got a 3 day ticket for £22. Now that wouldn't even get me in on the Friday.

Just ask for Media Access, do any of you have MSA Media Accreditation as that is all you need?

I don’t hold an MSA pass. Even if I did, I wouldn’t use it to gain access to an event unless I had a valid reason for being signed on. On this occasion, I’m coming down to enjoy myself with friends and see some fantastic machinery on the track. Not much fun being on one side of the fence, while the people you're meeting up with are on the other! I’ll definitely be taking photographs, but that’s not the only reason for being there.

If all goes to plan I will be in Canada shooting the polo world championships that weekend so I am hoping the over-inflated prices will be an irrelevance to me ;)

According to the Silverstone web site they want £30 a head advance or £35 on the gate. They seem to be under the illusion that it's Goodwood, judging by their prices! :lol:

You're not joking about the prices. I think the Classic just dropped off my calendar for this year.

A 3 day ticket cost £40 if bought by the 31st of March:p:p....looks like I will have the place to myself;)

I was at the silverstone classic media day and there was a dark blue Formula one car with no decals on it. It was jacky ickx's williams FW 05 did you get any pictures of it. It only ran in the afternoon session.
