Went to the CNY SCCA Solo II autocross event at the NY Fairgrounds last Sunday, here are some of my shots:

All the shots were taken handheld with an XTi - the panning shots were using the Sigma 70-300 APO DG.

This was my first time panning and shooting a motorsport event. Any comments or critiques are appreciated.

Cool nice shots!

I have Solo'd with the 2 open wheel cars there! I LOVE the B&W shot. Cool snowmobile engined "car" And the orange car with the webber sticker.

We have our first Solo of the season this weekend:mrgreen: At Seneca Army Depot in Romolus (sp) NY.

I think that your pics will be more dramitic if you are on the "inside" of the corners. if you get there early enough and bring a friend as a spotter you might be allowed out on course. That will net you some interesting shots, with the front or rear inside wheel in the air, maybe a shot into the drivers eyes...

Kenlude: Thanks! And you're right about getting on the track. Unfortunately my friend hijacked my telephoto lens and did exactly that :lol:. She got some nice shots from there while I took some pictures around the rest of the grounds.

RadAL: It's a track prepped 1973 Subaru DL Coupe

Speaking of which, Ken you will probably see a lot of it if you're hitting the CNY Autocross circuit this season. Owned by Jay-R, a great guy who heads up a local Subaru club.

May or may not be heading to the Seneca Falls event, slightly further than I'd like with finals this week, but I'll be sure to take some shots of any Preludes I see if I go ;)

Gval, what are you waiting for show us her shots! ;) There is only 1 CNY event that i will likely hit up this season and its the "shared" event at Seneca Army Depot... The rest are pretty far to drive (about 3hrs) I'm down in Corning NY.

Well if you ever did hit up a "Glen" event i know that there is myself and another driver that is into Photography also that would be there! So there would be like minded people there...
