I have been using Norton Anti-virus and have just experienced my first problem with it. Some how I have been "kicked off" as the Administrator and now cannot control anything. Ever since I have been kicked off, I cannot go onto secure web pages(my ebay, shopping checkout, etc). I know its not a virus because I can still use a virus scan. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I cant even uninstall it!!! :? :? :?

Is this at your work? If so you will not be able to do anything about it, as the domain administrator is probably over-riding your control.

If this is at home log in as Administrator and change the settings.

A virus will infect your computer, but you have protection. A firewall will protect you from computer attacks that enslave your system. Your inability to access secure sites relates more to your own PC's attempts to secure itself. Added software will try to protect you, I don't know about Norton AV though, but check its properties, or any Firewalls you might have, and under Internet Properties check Security levels.

Go to Norton Internet Security (world shaped figure in your bottom task bar).

Open it up and go to users accounts and verify the settings for yourself compared to Administrator.

Click on your name and change the settings if required.

You might want to check the Administrator settings as well.

Verify how it is logged in and change as required.

Good Luck :!:
