EDIT:: OMG!! I spelled Critique wrong!! GAHH!! Such an idiot... lol

Ok... so I've been playing with some ideas on business cards... for the business that I don't have. :D

Here are a few that I've come up with so far.

C&C Is always welcome and appreciated.

I won't re-post my comments from the other thread. I'll just add...remember it's only 2" x 3.5". Make everything count!

none of them are good IMO. Either too dark , too busy, text almost blend in with image in the bg.

Of them all I think #3 is the only one that's useable as a business card, maybe the last two with some more work.
Can you explain why you are creating a BC "for the business that I don't have"?

Hahaha... cause I'm really bored and I've been thinking about it a lot lately. :)

Ok... here's two other ones. One "dark" the other "light".

Remove the line under your business name. Remove the name 'email' and 'cell'. We all know what an e-mail and cell number is. Format wise it too centered. I did a 1 minute copy/paste from one of your cards to give you an example...

Yep. I would make your phone/e-mail/website the same size/weight. Maybe bump up a pt or two on your name and maybe use bold?

Do a two sided card.

One side with your info and the other with a photo, your name, and preferred contact, either phone or email.

I like the idea of a photo on a business card, especially if your business is photography! BUT, if it detracts from the information it is not helpful. The primary reason for a business card is to make it easy for someone to get a hold of you, not to showcase your work. However, if you can do both, go for it, but do not sacrifice clear simple distribution of information.

Sweet! Thanks... I'll have to play with it when I get home from work today. Thank you for all your help. :)

Hmmm... ok. I'll have to see what I can come up with. :) Thank you for your input.

No problem! Another point about NOT using a photo on a card...what happens if the client doesn't like the photo? They may think ALL of your photos are like that. Just a thought.

The first image seems to have some bands across it where the entire width of the image was cloned. I can pick out three of them, one just about in the middle of the image above the arch, the other two are about half-way between the middle line and the top and bottom edges of the image. I'd suggest trying to smooth those out if you go with that picture.

Yeah, I think that happened when I stitched them together... :( Stupid program. :p

I think they are to boring. If someone handed you that card, would you call them back. If it doesn't catch their eye, their not gonna call. The cards need some umphh! just my honest 2 cents.

I think your text size is too small for your contact info. Print one out at 270 x 160 and see if you can read it.

Also, have you tried making your business name span the entire width of the card?
