After many years of saying I was going to take up Photography I finally have made it. I am spending a lot of time reading and I am slowly starting to get good results, I have a Canon EOS 10D, and I print on a Epson 1290s, I have seen in one of the 1000s of articles that I have read a range of inks that offer much better colour and don't fade like normal inks, can anyone point me in the right direction and is there anything that I should know before using these inks

The range of inks that you are refering to are the kind that are produced by Lyson, I use them for both B&W and colour printing in a Epson 1290. Yes they do produce much better results than std inks but ( there's always a but ) you have to set your computer / printer up with a ICC colour profile, you can either opt for the downloadable one from Lyson or you can have a custom one produced. I would recomend that you contact one of Lysons resellers such as Lyson Inks reseller (http://www.specialistinks.com)
