My understanding is that Premier Elements gives you the ability to manipulate digital video while the Photoshop Elements does the still shots. I was considering both until I looked into it and since I don't do anything with digital video, I am simply going to upgrade to 3.0 of Elements.

CompUSA has it for $99.00 minus a $20 upgrade rebate (in box). Adobe has it (Photoshop Elements) for the same price as CompUSA but you have to pay for shipping which would be more than the tax I would have to pay if I go locally. Anyone seen it for cheaper?

Premiere allows you to mix still images and video and then burn the results to DVD etc. For holidays I find mixing stills and video can produce nice keepsakes but the Learning Curve for Premiere is quite high and Pinnacle Studio 9 is both cheaper and more user freindly
