I was riding back from the Dry Tortugas and the guy next to me had a G9 with a waterproof case. We started talking. I've got a few cameras and I use them for taking shots while kayak fishing. I have a self portrait mount on the front of the kayak where I put an Olympus 720SW. It works but I'm not thrilled with the quality of the shots. I use the Xti to take pictures of others and the main reason I got it was to have greater control over pictures and for the faster shutter speed to freeze fish jumping. Before that I was using a Kodak Easyshare and while I liked the quality of the pics the speed is simply to slow to freeze action. Plus neither has RAW and I write magazine articles and am doing a book.
I keep the Xti in a Otter box and its bulky and obviously since the camera isn't waterproof I can't use it in all situations.
I'm wondering if the G9 in the waterproof case will work. Obviously I can use it on the front mount using the self timer. The 1.5 fps should be fast enough. I'd only need to carry 1 camera and I can shoot pics in inclement weather where I wouldn't think of using the Xti.

I have heard that the waterproof case for the g9 rocks! Unfortunately, for those who thinks the custom grip for the G9 rocks as well can't use both.

Please prove me wrong and perhaps I will take into consideration on purchasing one. I'm pretty sure it was confirmed here, too lazy to click the search button, instead, I'll just keep typing and rambling...on and on...you know what i mean? ok...anyway.
