I have a G3 that probably has less than 500 shots on it (like new). Also have Hoya UV and Cir-Polarizing filters, Hoya diopters (+4, +2, +1), charger and spare battery in a Tamrac Video-Photo 5 bag. I've moved on to DSLR. Any idea if this set-up is worth anything?
Thanks, Doug in Alaska

I don't know what it is worth but the G3 is a great little camera. Look on Ebay and you might be able to get an idea of what they are selling for.
I kept mine for those times when I might not want to take the DSLR with me, however, my wife has grown fond of it and may not let me have it back. My daughter is going on a mission trip to Spain in about a week and she is taking the G3 with her. The G3 may have a tiny sensor and only be 4 MP but I would keep it.

G3 is one of my favorites. Mine lasted exactly 24 months. :(
Yeah, use the advanced search feature on eBay and look at "completed auctions" which will show you what sold and what didn't (including prices).
As Sparky hints, it's likely it's worth more to you than what you'd receive on the open market. There are a lot of really good non-dSLR cameras out there in the $200 price range.

Thank you, I appreciate the advice. Perhaps my wife will eventually grow fond of it but as for now she's attached to her ELF.

The G3 was my first digital, and produced some great images! I kept it until just recently when I got a G9. I sold the camera, two batteries, a variety of CF cards, and the tele converter to my sister for $150.00. Everything was mint cond. I probably would have asked more on the open market, but don't know if I would have gotten it. Had she not been interested in it I would have kept it as a spare...can't have too many cameras can you? :)

I understand what you are saying about not being able to enough cameras. I almost have as many cameras as my wife has shoes! :)

My G3 was in constant use for 4 years until I bought the G9 in October 2007. My daughter now uses the G3 and it is still producing great pictures. For what it's worth I would not sell it but use it as a backup camera. That was my plan except that my daughter wanted a better camera than the inexpensive Fuji that she had.

If I were you I'd keep it. Like others have said that camera is worth more to you that it would be on the used market. I used to have a G2 and loved it, I took some great photos with it. I have gone through a few incarnations: S2, S3, TZ3, and now just purchased a G9. I missed my G. I missed a real viewfinder, manual controls, and RAW.
I have 2 DSLRs an XT and a 5D, but there are plenty of situations where I like to have a smaller, lighter, less conspicuous camera. I always like having a compact camera close by, but one I can use like my SLRs. The G is the best I have found for this.

On eBay it's probably worth 100$ +/-. Some go for a bit more, some a bit less, the range seems to be about 15$ over and under. If it's in good shape and working well you may want to keep it for those times you don't want to risk your good camera but would like to take one with you (eg: around water). Could also convert it to IR as well, they work well for that if you don't want really large pics.
