In the Sports Illustrated suggested 20D settings (in 20D sticky note) the recommended setting for ETTL II flash mode is off.
Does anyone know why? If I'm using the 580EX why would I want that feature off?

14 0 - E-TTL II flash mode

On the contrary, what they're telling you to do is to set the flash to ETTL II mode. The other option (Cf-14=1) is to set the flash to averaged metering mode.

I just checked it and you can only select average or evaluative.

What article stated this.
