I've been inspired lately . . . read about these types of shots on one of the threads and I just tried them out . . .

All were taken with my G3, 7.2mm, 4.0s, f/5.6, ISO50. no flash. I used a standard tungsten bulb and reflected it off a wall to the left of the flower

Is it bad that I had to do quite a bit of editing in PSE3.0 to get the desired black background effect? I had a black backdrop, but the lamp reflected off of it, so i had to increase shadows.

Anyway . . . what do you think? Thanks, in advance.

Personally I don't care if you drew it pixel by pixel, they look great! :D #1 is my favorite, #2 i'm not so hot on because 2 flowers I find distracting. I think I prefer #3 to #4 but I like both :)

Yes, I also feel that #2 is kinda busy

Thanks for the compliments!

Nice work!

I had a black backdrop, but the lamp reflected off of it, so i had to increase shadows.
Get some black velvet & it should solve that problem.

I agree with Frank and would only add that you have some nice contrast in the shots.

Well done

i like the shot where the purple flower is positioned to the right of the photo with the left side as blank space. nice composition!
