Hmmm................if only its not too heavy. I am a sucker for lightweight cameras...............maybe the next 1 series will have an optional battery grip (like its film equivalent).

I loved the 20D's size and weight, but for the shooting i often do (telephoto) i could never see it being my main camera now that i've used a 1D.

The weight is a lot, but truely you get use to it.

Congrats on the new camera and welcome to the forum. It's good to have another member from Canada and of course Montreal here.
we are slowly taking the forum over
Remember, your first image post has to be of a duck

Actually, I like the weight. If you have a 20D with a battery grip, the weight is pretty much the same. And I really like the 2-handed operations on the 1 series cameras. :)

Thats something i very quickly took for granted.

A long extensive search of these boards will get you a thread where i was whining about the fact that there is no "settings lock" on my (old) Drebel, the two handed method of the 1 series is pretty much the same thing.

Oh lord!!! Another Canadian, and from Montreal to boot.

That means more duck and deer photos, and Tim Horton jokes. I don't know if we can stand any more of this.

Maybe there's something in the water in Montreal.

Welcome to the forum. That's an excellent camera to be announcing your presence with.

Don't pay any attention to the jealousy about our ducks and deer.

Welcom to the forum, quintistic.

The only thing I used to know about ducks and deer was that ducks go "quack" and deer go "moo". But now that I've been to Montreal and met some good and decent people, I've been educated and know a little bit more about these wildlife. Now I know that ducks go "quack-quack" and deer go...well, they just go, period. That's why we can never find them when we want to take pictures of them.  Or, if you're really quick on the draw like someone I know, you get a good shot of the southern end of the deer.

Leo,
With the next GCPS being in January and there is the possibility of snow on the ground, the "boing.....boing....boing" might be a bit mufflled. Hold on a sec! I'm getting confused between deer and kangaroos.
Kangaroos are the "boingy" things and deer make a noise something like, well , like a deer.

Geez, I think we got to take Leo to a zoo.........first it was the kangaroos and now deer that go "moo". I don't think we should let him go huntin' cause he'd come home with a 1200 pound black and white deer strapped onto the top of the truck.
