We've received some much needed rain over the last few days. The irises looked nice with the drops still clinging. I would appreciate very much any critique you may have. I am just starting to use my new xti and PS Elements software. I would like to get more serious with my photography but I am still a total novice (I'm "moldable" - mold me!).

Thank you.

Beautiful shot on this one. On the bottom foreground, it looks as though the petal was pasted onto the background. Over sharpened perhaps?

Aha! I do see what you are talking about. I didn't notice it and I bet you're right about it being caused by sharpening. See, I probably would've failed to look for this in the future if I hadn't posted for criticism. Thank you.

Beautiful color, exposure, sharpness and clarity. Very good seperation from uncluttered background.
The only thing that leaves me wanting is I wish I could see the whole iris.
Very nice.

Thanks for the comments Leuce. Enjoyed your portfolio. I especially liked the B&W of the old house. A nice mood was set in that one.

I couldn't agree more. I love it when an image displays on my monitor as sharp and as saturated as if it were a hardcopy print that I was looking at.
IHMO, I don't see any of the usual signs of over-sharpening such as halos and noise.

Excellent color and clarity. Perhaps oversharpened but not anything I saw without mention of it.

The crop isn't the best for this flower, they are so gorgeous in their entirety.but the focus and colors are wonderfully done!
