I'm maxing myself out buying an AB light kit. Ideally I'd like two lights but that won't happen right now so I'm going to buy a reflector but would like a way to hold it without spending additional cash on a multiboom stand.

Anyone have a DIY solution?

Use some cheap a-clamps and whatever you have around. I've used ladders, trees, doors, etc. - something to secure it to.

Here's couple DIY reflectors I use. The 30x20" black and white foam boards from Target at left, and Tinker Tubes reflector panel at right.

To mount the foamboard to the light stand, I use a flat piece of metal bar, double side tapes, and a small ballhead.

Fabulous - what material are you using for the large flat panel - a plain cotton?

I used a white cotton bed sheet for a long time, finally 'upgraded' to Sport Nylon from Jo-Ann Fabrics recently.
