I'm on the fence with lens, but the 'almost macro' of this lens is helping me sway the vote. But, i'm a little skeptical on its actual macro performace.

Anyone have any samples of macro shots with this lens?

Here is close up of a $20 bill. Also, 100% crop included. You cannot see the lettering USA with the naked eye! Mine is up for sale very soon...

It is definately 'Macro enough' for most needs in my own experience, unless you're specifically into Macro. In that case get a proper Macro lens.

Ask them about the working distance - subject to hood distance. Not very practical outdoors, at least with live subjects.

It is decent with Macro, though I have been adding a Closeup filter lately to get a little extra Macro with it.

I am in no way a macro photographer and a dedicated macro lens wouldn't benefit me, so this lens would be perfect.

Thanks everyone, definitely helped!
