Any ideas on how to get some clients? Advertising? Just going to do it as a sideline job right now so I don't need anything major. Just a way to get my feet wet!!!
Thanks!!

What kind of photography are you wanting to do? Sports, portraits, weddings, product, children, senoir protraits?
List what you are wanting to do and maybe someone can give you some ideas but first we need to know where you are going with it.
What may work for getting portrait work won't help a bit for doing youth sports.

Duh!! I can't believe I forgot to put that in. I guess I figured everyone could read my mind!!
I want to do people/portrait. I really like shooting children, families, seniors. Not ready to take on weddings yet!!

Offer to do things for free just to sharpen your skills and get your work noticed as an 'amateur'. In an office, there are lots of potential clients (like young families)...offer to do some portrait work for them. Continue this until you build up your reputation and portfolio. If you did good work, the people will do the advertising for you as they 'show off' their photos to others. Then start talking to the pros about setting fees.
Photography is also a cool way to 'hide' during awkward family get-togethers (JUST KIDDING!)
