nice sharp picture of a snail. anything else we should see? softer lighting may help this out, since some of the highlights are washed out (blade of grass above the snail), and the reflection on the snail shell calls undue attention away from its 'face'.

a little dark (there is no white in the picture). the subject ironic in a way. though i'd like another element in the pic to drive home the point you were trying to make.

out of focus. sorry, i can't look deeper than that.
keep it up -- practice practice practice. we used to say "film is cheap". well, digital is basically free. so take lots of pictures.
btw, it helps to know the exposure settings (mode, aperture, shutter speed) and equipment (body, lens, flash) used. with that info you may get more specific advice like "try a Lumiquest diffuser on your Speedlight 580EX next time".
