Ok, what do you guys think? Was Miley Cyrus exploited by Annie Liebovitz? Will it hurt Miley's career? Was it ethical for Annie Liebovitz to photography a 15 year old in that way?

Annie Leibovitz is way overrated IMO...and whatever the intent of the pictures, it also keeps Leibovitz' name in the news also. Publicity hounds on both sides of the camera.

I agree and I think it's interesting L resorts to this kind of stunt in order to keep her name in the news. Doesn't say much for her character.

Im curious as to how this could be an issue with the photographer. The person being photographed does not have to do anything they are not comfortable with nor do the parents have to allow it. I just dont see how in any way the photographer can be at fault of anything. I dont know who this photographer is, so maybe I am missing something.

Not commenting on this issue specifically, but as a general concept... just because parents approve does not absolve a photographer of their own responsibility regarding accepted societal standards, etc.

I dont think any standards were broken. There have been tons of images put out that are WAY more sexual/risque/whatever than this one. And nothing is ever said. The only thing that makes this one news, is the fact that it is of a Disney star. And in my opinion one that is not very good.
