I contemplated buying this camera to take when I did not want to lug aroung my DSLR stuff. I decided to wait for the S6... but receive one last night as a birthday gift. Thanks honey!

I am getting to know it, but there are a few quirks for me. Any way, does anyone have an aftermarket strap for this thing? I am looking for suggestions on one that removes quickly.
I purchased a waterproof box for the thing today to mount on my kayak deck. The box stays put on the deck but can be opened quickly. When kayaking, I'd almost rather have a wrist strap.

I have not tried video or external flash yet.... more playing with it tonight I guess. This thing really packs a wallop of features.

It certainly is an impressive camera. My cousin was actually comped one during his last visit to Vegas :D

It has ring USM, IS and two microphones to record stereo sound in video mode.

check out the Op-Tech straps. They convert to a wrist strap with a couple of plastic buckles.

I second the above strap, cut the sd card holders off and I think its perfect. Quick release buckles so you can ditch the stap and connect to a backpack or wrist strap.

I would have to say the Canon WS-20 is my favorite wrist strap.

Congrats. I recommended the S5 to my friend and she went for it the day before Christmas. She didn't have a good strap either and I had an extra POTN strap from my 20D, which I did not give away. She loves it. She thinks the strap is comfy for the camera and says she wouldn't even know about thick straps. Anyway, she takes great pictures coming from a film Pentax. She love the zoom on it and at the cherry blossom festival, did just as well as I did. She's a natural. Enjoy it!
