I got a chance to be a second shooter at a wedding over the weekend. Ceremony was held outside at 2 pm with the sun high in the sky and not a cloud in sight. I feared exactly this setting and I think i blew out more shots than I can count. So my hat is off to the wedding photogs of the world. I look at some of you posts here and im just amazed at the work you do in such a fast paced environment. So hope you had a good weekend and I have some learning to do! Keep posting and ill keep looking....

I too, tip my hat to the pros. As my knowledge of photography grows, so does my respect for the professional.

When I joined the forum over 2 years ago, I was already shooting weddings, and I think my work was good, but the level of learning here is so terrific that I have enjoyed the experience totally. I used a 10D and 28-135 IS for most of the first year. I shoot mainly for friends and for free at first. Now I shoot for friends and for free, but I do it better. ;) I also started shooting events all over the place in the last 2 years. I've met over 2 dozen POTNer's all over the US. The talent here is wonderful. And I have more gear now than I even could have imagined. So, keep shooting, play with all the buttons, and volunteer your time. You'll be surprised how much you'll improve.
