I was wondering if you had a choice would you pick the sigma 24-60 or the tamaron 28-75? I was leaning to the sigma but im not hearing to much talk about it so i would like to know what you guys think.

No question the Tamron 28-75.

The Tamron's a great lens. Do a bit of a search, it's talked about very often. Also see reviews on http://fredmiranda.com and http://www.photographyreview.com/Lenses/PSC_3787crx.aspx

The Sigma 24-60 is a very new lens. Popular Photography magazine gives it a pretty good review, but I'd wait for some other opinions before making a move.

I have the Sigma 24-60 and love it.

But then, what do I know? :?

Sigma still has the 24-70 in their lineup but the 24-60 is smaller, lighter, and optically superior to it.The Sigma 24-70 is supposedly a mediocre performer, but the 24-60 is stellar.

If everything else was equal between the Sigma 24-60 and the Tamron 28-75, I'd rather have the extra 4mm at the wide end and give up 15mm on the long end, especially with my 20D and it's 1.6X crop factor. It's a little less of an issue on the 1D Mk II.
