I do a ton of Senior Portraits and a few weddings. I have been using my 550EX on my bracket for the senior portraits and dragging my old studio lights to weddings for the formals. I'm kind of sick of the set up with the studio lights and thing I could get better results with a two light setup for the senior portraits. I would like to have a portable "studio" that I can take with me to both. I was thinking about buying a 580 EX II to go with my 550 EX (partially because I've been using the heck out of the 550 an I think it's about time to replace it). That way I could mount them both on light stands with umbrellas and use the 550 as fill and the 580 as my main light (apparently this is easier because of a change in the switch on the 580). I also think I am going to get a set of Skyports to be able to wirelessly trigger them. I am a little worried about the amount of light I would get from them compared to studio strobes? Anybody use something similar or think I should go another direction?

The 580 bounced off an umbrella provides about f8 from 6 ft, iso100, you can compare that to your stobes for power.
