On topic - I just picked up some strobist gear. Problem is they didn't 1) ship my Skyport receivers and 2) the necessary cables. Thus, I am stuck in the shot, mashing the pilot light button while the shutter is open. Trust me, I've done some serious stretches between those two strobes since this afternoon. Regardless, I'm in love with this setup - I'm going to try this shot again with mirror lockup and the car actually clean tomorrow. Then once more when I'm capable of removing myself from the shot with those triggers.

ohaha I like your pics, #1 especially. By the way, I take it you're in the US? If you think gas is expensive where you are, spare a thought for us in Britain. We are paying the equivalent of more than 10$ for a uk gallon of unleaded. 7$ straight to the government and they want to increase tax even further!!

I LOVE number. Dunno why I do so much, it just has a really cool feel to it. And I know what you mean about gas, it's crazy. I have a gas guzzling 03 Mustang GT that gets HORRIBLE gas mileage. But hey, got magna flows and K&N air intake. Its my baby! haha, sorry to get off track, again, great pic on number one, I would actually use that as a desktop wallpaper if I could.

And lanfp, hehe, its "$10" not "10$" silly uk currency backwordness! Just kidding, I do feel sorry for you, thats rediculous!

thanks guys! I've always known you guys over there have been paying an arm and a leg. When you think about the price it's still not *that* bad it's just how quickly it's rising.

As for the strobist article, I can't find it right now, but the general gist is. Slow shutter speed and a small aperature so you get some time to move around with the shutter open. While you're doing that you've got your external flash hand-held popping it on whatever you want.

Sorry to hear that. I don't know about STi's but on a regular WRX (2.0) with COBB Stage1 engine management you can see some mpg improvements. Maybe now I can justify spending some $$$ on COBB. But then again maybe a nice strobist gear? COBB, photo gear, COBB, photo gear....my brains!!!
