I saw this today and thought it may interest some people here.

This website tells where to get and how to use the program to extend some of the cameras capabilities. I don't know if this is common knowledge or not here so I thought I would share it with you.

One of the things that I would be most interested in is the exposure settings. You can go up to 65 seconds or as fast as 1/250,000 of a second. This is according to the website though. I am a little scared of installing this and was wondering has anyone else had any sucess with it?

Shortcut to supported models:

Nothing for me, no G9, G5, or 5D.

I installed last week, and think the features are pretty cool, as I can now get raw on my S5IS. among other neat little goodies... it loads on start up from the film card and doesnt change the firmware and can be "turned off" by simply unlocking your film card...

When I went to the wikia.com list of supported cameras the G9 wasn't there. Does it really work on the G9?

This is way cewl and should have its own category on the front page.
there is really no excuse not to install it if you got a canon that supports it.
i got the little IXUS 850is and this firmware just improves the camera and the fun
i can have with it 100 fold.

I own a Canon S5 and have just recently loaded the CHDK program. I can save RAW files on the S5 now but they are much larger (10MB) and I cannot convert them using paintshop pro. I have also used the "time lapse" feature and increase shutter times - definitely everyone owning a Canon should check this out
