I'm buying my first DSLR soon, the XSi. I dont' know the differences between memory cards and if someone could help explain the difference I would appreciate it.

What's the difference between these two? Which would you recommend I buy?

Is this a good package to buy?

the extreme III has faster read and write speeds, it wont make the slightest difference in camera but when transferring to pc with a card reader, you'll save a few minutes.

I'd just get the ultra 2, maybe get 2 of them, much more efficient spending!!!

Get the 4 GB Extreme III. Rob Galbraith's CF/SD database (http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/camera_multi_page.asp?cid=6007-9424) shows it to be about 30% faster in the 450D than the 2 GB Ultra II, which will cost you more ATM. The Extreme III cards also come with a photo recovery program on CD-ROM, which is always nice to have on hand. If you're hankering for a bag, and don't mind one that will only be usable on your right side, the kit's not too bad a deal (although not yoet in stock, I note). It'll be awful big for just a 450D, though. I wouldn't expect too much of the memory card they're including though; it's rated speed is substantially less than any actual performance that Rob found in the cards he tested in the 450D, and about 1/7 that which he measured with the SanDisk Extreme III you asked about. And rated speeds are measured downhill with a tail wind :{)#
