I just bought a 20d and am interested in a wireless remote like the rc-1 the rebel has... but I don't want to spend $300 for the Canon one. Any competitors out there? THanks

Do you mean you want to trigger a photo remotely ? If so there is a company in China that do one for around $150 on ebay.

Look here:

I have bought the wired remote from him and it works fine

I also have an Adidt version of the wired remote for my 10D and am very happy with it for the price I paid compared to Canon's version. When I am ready to go wireless, I would definitely consider the Adidt just based on my experience with them so far.

If you decide to try this remote, let us all know how it works! Good luck!

Have your kid stand next to the camera and whenever you need a shot, just yell

I have the wireless from Adidt
It arrived yesterday. I am very impressed with the build quality of it. I haven't had a chance to test it out, beyond the fact that it works.
It took three weeks to arrive, but I was expecting this as the general feedback will indicate that it ain't quick, but it's coming from China so it's to be expected.

Great value for money.

A remote control for a toy car could be used with this circuit that I use for my 10D.

I can't see your page for some reason, but I was thinking of a mechanical solution using a small servo on the shutter realease to emulate a finger after I saw the prices of the 10D remotes. I would control the servo with normal RC car electronics.

I don't have enough stuff to spend $300.00 on a remote yet. There are other things more worthwhile to fill the bag with. I agree with those with setiment about not having the infared sensor on all the cameras. My RC-1 is fantastic with the Rebel.
