What have you done to yours? :)
I know there is the grip but I don't feel a need for it...
The shutter release could be handy though.
I'm going to get the 430 EX flash and waterproof case I think.

Everyone should post an image of their tricked out(more PC):) G9. As soon as the Viewfinder cmes in I will post.

Like others, I have the grip and thumb button from Richard Franiec. The grip is excellent, though I think the thumb grip is, well, marginal IMO. I also got the lensmate, which is beautifully made, even though you can't use the viewfinder when it's on. I've got a 35mm optical viewfinder I could use, but I'm looking for a 50mm 1:1 like the old Leica ones.

>> 430 EX flash <<
That should probably be your first investment. It will make the most difference in many of your images.

I got the grip recently and I find that it is not a necessity but does improve handling quite a lot. I also like the lensmate. Partly because it gives a more natural camera support, but mostly because I had the tendency to pocket the g9 while it was still shutting down, causing my fingers to tough the lens (bleh!).
Next I’m saving up for a tripod and a 480EX (tripod first I think because it is marginally cheaper)

How did you guess.. that was my plan? :)
I forgot to add I also have an adapter similar to the lensmate because I was dying to put filters on my previous P&S but couldn't. so now I can use filters - yay!
actually I think out of Richard's accessories I'll prob get the hot shoe cover as it annoys me how it's so exposed like that.

Looks like we aren't the only group sharing this information :-)

Personally, I added all of Richard's accessories. Because of my hand size, the grip and thumb button turned out being necessities as well as great looking.
The black lens ring was added strictly for bling purposes. I just didn't like Canon's silver ring.
The hot shoe cover actually performs as advertised.
Finally, I went with the shutter release adapter. I like the retro look and it does allow me to do some things that the timer alone doesn't.
I may add the LensMate and some of their additions someday. But for now, I like the G9 for traveling light and small. If I want other lenses and filters, I'll stick with my 40D.

Yep, count me in for Richard's grip, thumb rest, a Lensmate, a B+W CP filter, an old 420EX Speedlite, a Canon WP-DC21 case and a DCS-55A camera case. Great travel camera.
