Thank you very very much, I missed this forum. The other ones aren't like this one in any way shape or forum (except they are forums). This one is way friendlier.

I really missed the opportunity to chat about all the cool things I have discovered about my new camera since the site went down. Like it does IR, not as good as 10D as far as spectrum is concerned, but the overall quality of the picture turned out better, even though a longer exposure was needed.

I also discovered that the autofocus in AI servo mode is pretty darn good compared to my 10D and it would have even been better catching them seagulls, but the operator didn't know what he was doing (I needed to RTFM again).

Anyway good to see the foum is back up.

May it have a long life.

Nice to see the place still breathing some air. :)

Also at the same time, a large racing sim forums, with 70,000 odd members is down as well, with virus attacks. And another site I'm part of, many people have had their files deleted and hacker notes left.

Not a nice world, but at least there are some good people around such as Pekka, who I'm sure spent endless hours upgrading the place to come back online, and satisfy the great hobbyists of photography. :)

Same thing has happened with Moppie as well. And good thing signatures are disabled, as they're wrong as well. Take care.

Ok to make me look stupid, sorry now I see basic options have most things disabled, rather than the full forum. So everyone can see my signature, which isn't mine.

Garethhhh... You need to go into your profile (the "User CP" link at the top of the page) and select "Show Avatars" in the "Edit Options" section. You should probably turn on "Show Signatures" and "Show Images" while you're at it...

Pekka, a lot of thanks for bringing the forum back online again also from Orleans, Canada ... no, wait, didn't I live somplace else before :lol: ?

It was nearly impossible for me to conceive how life without the forum would be. To say the least, the experience of waiting for it to get back online was exhilarating.

FM and Photo.net were nowhere near anything of a replacement for the spirit of this forum.
