flickering lcd g9

I find when I review pictures with the hystogram and other info on the lcd (in other words the picture is small) , the picture flickers in seemingly arbitrary places. I find it very disturbing. Is this a defect in the camera? It's new and under warrenty so I need to know. By the way,when I put the review on full screen there is no flickering.

What that is telling you is, the highlights have been blown out (overexposed). Read pages 62-64 in the manual telling you about detailed information during playback/review. It is normal.
