Hi everyone,

Like many people I have always been rather sceptical of extenders, well, used with the right lens they can be quite usefull. I have been using my Canon 1.4 II for quit a while now with good results on a few lenses but a recently aquired Kenko 2x extender proved its keep this weekend. I managed to get a few shots of a rather rare and shy bird by using the Kenko on my 100-400L IS lens giving me an effective 800mm. The result is still sharp enough even if the DOF is rather small.

Camera used was the Canon EOS 1DSmk2, EF 100-400L IS (IS on @ 400mm) with Kenko 2x extender, f8, 1/250sec, ISO 250 handheld.

Have fun !

Rudi,

all I see is a red x ... granted, it is sharp, but doesn't look much different from a photo from the 1.8/50 that is not properly linked ;-)

I tried to open the link directly and it stated that it was denied by an access control list.

Best regards,
Andy

I can see the pic fine. It's a good pic, and looks to have good detail and contrast. Maybe i'll have to look at these kinds of things some time too, to turn my 100mm lens into a 200mm lens :)

ISP's !!!!! They can really get things wrong !!

Looks like my ISP (Sentech SA) are blocking some domains/networks from access on port 80 (www). I have made a few calls so I am hoping they will sort it out soon.

Sorry for the trouble !!

Regards,
Rudi

Hi Tim,

Yes, I just spoke to the ISP and they have taken down a node (I am on a microwave link) to try and sort out the problem, looks like a router that is causing it, should be up soon IF I can believe them......

Ok, sun's up so time to go and take a few photoshttp://photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif
