Hi all...
just bought a polariser filter for my 400d.. was thinking of capturing the sunset a little later over the river Dee, with a huge bridge in the background.. will my polariser be good for this? basically i dont know what to do with it, i know its good for preventing reflections etc... ideas and tips most welcome!

A polarizing filter will give you the most effect if you are facing about 90° away from the direction of the sun. You need to rotate the filter while looking through the camera to select the level of the effect (darkening blue skies, cutting through reflections on non-metallic surfaces such as glass, water, some car paint jobs, etc.).
Hope this helps.
