Howdy there,
I am trying to adjust the LS myself for the D60 and I was wondering if you or Roger could help me with adjusting the reds and maybe the sharpness. I can't tell you how well your LS works for the 60.

Blair,

The first thing you need to do is get hold a Q13/Q14 card or something similar like a Gretag Macbeth card. These have an assortment of colour patches. You can then take sample shots and get a much better idea of how channel mixer adjustments affect the different colours.

You can use the TIF conversion as a comparison. Run the sample image through LS and compare colours values. One thing that could give some useful clues, although unfortunately, only in 8-bit would be to create an image with two layers: one the LS version and the second the TIFF version. Change the blend mode to difference. Identical images will be completely black, so this should highlight where the biggest differences are.

This is going to be a lot harder than I thought. I was hoping that all I would have to do was adjust a hue and saturation. How much are those cards? I might go out and buy one and see if someone els can do this, seeing how limited my PS knowledge is.

The Kodak Q60 card is really needed, it's about $100.

Hue/saturation will produce artifacts, so use only Channel mixer to adjust colors. Each channel must equal to 100%. Channel mixer may work, too.

It took about three weeks to complete LS 342, the task is not easy at all because everything affects everything and nothing must clip.
