OK, so let's see.
A year ago today.....
I was still shooting with my S2 and had decided to finally get a DSLR. I would buy a XT 2 days later.
I thought the XT with kit lens and 75-300mm was just the coolest best camera and lenses I would EVER want or need. 3 months later I would move to a 30D and my first L lens.
I still really had no concept of aperture and the effect it would have on pictures.
I was still mildly in fear of Belmondo and Condyk. :p
I still had money in my savings account.
I had no idea what the heck an Alien Bee was. I would have associated it with the killer bee pandamonium that struck Southern California in the 80's.
I had no idea how amazingly cool most of the members here were and just how much I would learn from them.

Just browsing your gear list, you seem to have acquired a sigma fettish. Had any problems with any of your lenses?

I DO have a Sigma fetish. :D I haven't had any problems whatsoever. I actually just got rid of 2 Canon lenses so I could get the faster Sigmas. I just can't justify paying so much more at the moment when I can get faster glass that gives me the quality I need for so much less.
One of these days I'll master the 10-20 and my life will be complete. :D

And what's wrong with that.
I still fear Belmondo, and I haven't met him yet. That original avatar of his is terrifying, nothing like the friendly image I've seen from the Cal get togethers, which I'm gonna miss again next weekend, and they are practically in my backyard.

Thanks Maureen. Coming from you that is a compliment of the highest form!

No way! Belmondo is way too much like my dad (even in looks). A big gruff looking man who I'm sure has a heart of gold.

A very flattering comment indeed. After studying your way of speaking for the first 6 months, I've come to appreciate reading your posts 3 times to get the full gist of their meaning. :D In this day and age of slacking literacy and IM speak, I mean that in the most sincere way possible.
Lucy, who?
You know, the same Lucy who went and revived your Long beautiful hair thread when you PM'd her asking her too. ;) Kidding.

Actually, I'm priding myself on going a whole year debt free. As much as I've wanted to blow the dust off the credit cards I've restrained. It's taken ALOT of will power.

For the first time in my adult life I am debt free and it gives huge freedom and satisfaction. Stick at it. The first debt I took on was aged 17 in the mid-1970's when I bought a Bush Music centre: amplifier, record deck, cassette and radio all built into one unit and it cost me £105 which was a lot of money then and I paid it off over a year. Then you get cars, holidays, hobbies, property, etc and then you have work harder than you should to pay for it all. Very silly.
