Tiger jumps 5 meter fence

As some may know one of my favorite subjects to photograph is Zoo animals especially the big cats.

I have not new photos at this time however I just wanted to tell You about something amzing that happened ealier this week in a danish zoo.

A zoo had recently received 2 new young tigers and they had built a new enclosure that was up to all standards regarding everything.

But the young male tiger managed to jump/climb over a 5 meter tall electrical fance http://photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif Nobody understand how in the world it managed to do that. http://photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif

So it actually got out into the zoo park. Unfortunately the zoo had to kill the tiger because they were afraid that if they just shot it with a tranquilizer dart it would get more scared than it already was and could do serious damage to people.

Wow, 5 meters is a pretty high fence.

First of all, too bad they had to waste the tiger. But the zoo people ought to try to figure out what motivated the tiger to even try something like that. If they don't solve that puzzle, then the next one might try the same stunt.

Maybe the tiger thought that he was Steve McQueen in the movie, The Great Escape.

Steve was a wimp - that fence was only 2 meters. :)

Bob, the other tiger won't try the same because the zoo will now add a net-roof so it can't get out.
