I thought I would start this thread for people to report any bugs with the new forum. I found one myself:

Using Safari 1.0.3 with Mac OS 10.2.8 in Threaded Mode, the drop-down menu for "Quick Links" and "Search" appear under the messages box. See screen grab (with added arrow) below:

Thanks, a good idea! Keep posting - I'll try to get solutions.

I am having the same problem. Some smilies work while others do not. Also there are duplicate smilies in the smilie box. Not a big problem but a minor annoyance. I am starting to get used to the new look though.

I gave up on the smilies right now for the same reason. I'm thinking this is one of those kinks that get worked out over the next couple weeks.

Have Fun,

Well having installed my own forum before, I know what Pekka is going thru, give it time and all will work out. I see you installed the CP mod, I just did this on mine.

Looks great Pekka.

Another safari user here with the same thing, but I always use the linear view so It's not a problem for me.

richpix, FYI updating to 10.3.6 and Safari 1.2.4 won't fix the problem ;)

Thanks, arum. I use the linear view too, but was playing with the new toy and discovered the problem. Oddly enough this wasn't a problem with IE (5.2.2), because there were no drop-down menus available at all.

You've saved me from having to upgrade to Panther! I had a hard enough time keeping up with all the updates to Jaguar. I'm sure my new box will have the latest OS when I buy it early next year, and then the frequent updating can begin all over again.

Topic counter updates once an hour by default (saves resources). I set it now to "realtime". If there are server load problems because of that I may put it back to default some day.

I really would appreciate some help please

hoping someone could tell me how to take my name off the 'active members' list on the page which shows 'who is online '

since the new change I have tried
every time I come onto the forum ,to get things checked right

but my name is there
and with a *
which makes it even worse

sometimes but very seldom, it's not there

I tried logging out over and over but I can't

I also tried to be 'invisible' but still my name is there

'log out' is on the screen all the time regardless of what I do.

logging out it says 'cookies are removed' and that I have logged out

but then the 'log out' never happens or appears

it has to be something I am not doing right
but not sure what.... exactly.

if I leave the square box (on the user cp question on edit options) unticked or ticked it's not taking my name off.

now and again I see it gone (my name)

it's not enough
as that happened roughly twice

but if it can happen once it should be ok to happen again..
except I don't know exactly when and how it happened
I thought it would stay like that then

cp 'edit options' options copied >

'Use Invisible Mode
Invisible mode allows you to browse the forums without appearing in the 'Currently Active Users' lists.Use Invisible Mode'

I have ticked it and I have unticked it

help with this would be more then appreciated http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

thanks

When you use invisible mode you can see your own name always, it is hidden only from others.
When you log out your name will stay on the list for 30 minutes (same in previous forum) - this is the same time value that a user must remain inactive before any unread posts are marked read so setting this is currently a compomise.

If you want to verify you have indeed logged out, go to the front page of forum: it will look different, you see a welcome message on top, you can not see most of the menu links on top and you can not see "Marketplace" or "Cornering the PRo's" forums.

thanks a lot for that information Pekka

very best wishes to you and yours this season
