View Full Version : D60, hot pixels normal?

I started noticing that when I shoot at ISO 800, I have 3 pixels in my D60 that record as white, and the effect even bleeds into the surrounding pixels (I'm using JPEG fine). They are always in the same place. If I look at my ISO 100 pictures, I don't see this, and in ISO 200 pictures they are there but only faintly.

So my question is whether or not this is normal to have a few bad pixels in the CMOS imager. I don't see it affecting my work at ISO 100, but higher than that I think they are noticable enough that I will have to manually edit them out.

I have hot pixels in the preview LCD, and this is the second D60 I have had with this problem. I havent seen any issues with the main sensor. I would recommend getting onto you dealer and ask for a replacement ( I used jessops in the UK and they sourced another within a week) . In the past I have seen other companies issueing software patches but these only work when the damge appears in the same position in the image every time. Getting it in different places as you indicate may be something different altogether

apologies, you said they are always in the same place, if you cant get a new camera (which I would insist on) then you should definately get canon to provided a patch, but its only a fiddle as it takes an average of the surrounding ones.
