This shows once again that the real limit is the photographer, more than the camera. :)

Amazing pictures. He is a persistent one to return after having all his equipment stolen on a previous trip.

Lets discuss his style..........do you think he uses fill falsh on his outdoor portraits?? How does he acheive those wonderful catchlights on his subjects eyes?? Most of these photos were shot with the subject very close.....I wonder if he talks to them and take thier photos or he just snaps away.
Any ideas??

Must use some sort of fill flash/lighting on some of those close portraits, but its done sooo well.
I hope he 's a pro! because his photos are like pro photographs. I think a wide variety of very nice lens' for sure.
Extremely good and encouraging work there!

Wow, whats up with that i wonder. I assume that mode produces more saturated images...but hmm, I'll have to try it soon.

I don't think Ro1 is referring to a mode on the camera, but to the orientation of most of the photos. At least that's my take.

I think he tries to position some source of light behind him reflecting in the subject's eyes. If you look closely you will frequently see his silhouette in the subject's eyes. I don't think that effect could be achieved using flash.
Most of these photos were shot with the subject very close.....I wonder if he talks to them and take thier photos or he just snaps away.
He seems to favor his 17-40 and his 50mm prime. Given his frame filling style I think he's talking to people. It's hard to get such composition without the person cooperating with such short lenses. (Even factoring in the 1.6x crop factor.)
Very interesting work to look at.

Vita - I agree........In most of these portraits, he uses the light background to create catchlights in his subjects eyes........have to practice this. He puts his subjects in the shade and he probably asks them to look up (to the sky) - hence the catchlights.........he takes the photo from above.......There is one photo though where he used fill flash to compensate for the sun.........In any case, he captured some very wondeful emotions......
.......Also, his exposures are perfect!!! probably uses RAW :p

This guy has some top notch galleries. What I found interesting is his settings/technique:
From his site:
------
My Canon is set to parameter 1. I adjust ISO all the time depending on the available light.
I don't use special filters, no polarizers. I have simple UV filters on my lenses only just to protect them...
- cropping?
I don't crop pictures, all pictures taken with Canon 300D and Canon G3 are original, original compositions.
- post-processing?
yes, in Photoshop7, but I am almost a complete amateur in that matter... before posting pictures here what I do is - resize, then sharpening - using Luko's method from TrekEarth, then auto-contrast, auto-colors (if white balance was not correct - like if the picture was reddish...) adjustments. If I am not satisfied with auto results I adjusts those parameters manually (using levels, curves, contrast, brightness, color balance functions).
sometimes i burn or dodge locally. I use burning to preserve highlights while adjusting levels and contrast.
I don't saturate colors in PS - colors produced by Canon 300D are satureted nicely enough.
anyway, I try to do as few adjustments as possible.. most of the time the whole post-processing takes me less than 1 minute...
- exposure
most of the time I underexpose pictures to preserve highlights. This is because the dynamic range of Canon 300D is not so great... that's why I have to brighten them a bit in PS later.
