That's a long mixed up sentence, it's quite hard to read. How about telling us what stands you have, and how you current connect everything together. You have a speed ring? Any heavy duty light stands will be fine, I have 13' impact stands. I'd probably buy another brand next time, these ones are a bit fiddly to adjust the feet.

I have ab 13ft heavy duty stands. I currenty use the speed rings that came with the amvona softboxs. The problem is not the stand but the light ring wont stay on the light very good.
I was wondering if there is a way to hook the softbox to the light stand or would you do something different.

Sounds like you need another speedring to me. I have the AlienBees speedring and it works fine.

The amvona's speedring has a larger opening than the AB's. If you are handy with a hacksaw, cutting part of the ring off will fit the AB strobe.

Light modifiers are attached to lights, not stands.

I modified my amvona speedring with drill and file to make holes the alienbees hooks fit in.
