A late decision, but my uncle wants to go along to Silverstone this year (aunty paying for his 40th present), and has asked me along. I was planning to do a couple of European weekends next year, and skip this year altogether - however, best I go along and keep him company :)

I'm needing help in deciding the best locations.

I'm figuring the General Admission tickets sold out some time ago?

If I bought a grandstand ticket, can I still wander around, say the Friday? As would like to take the camera then, and perhaps just sit and enjoy the racing the next couple of days.
Or am I limited to just the grandstand area during the whole weekend?

From the current selections available, what ones would be best?

Luffield A - maybe good angle seeing him enter Luffield, and line up for a fast finish line straight

Copse E - first corner carnage?

Or a fake media pass :p

to be honest warren i didnt really like silverstone for photography when i visited for the gt, i think we mainly stuck to the luffield area, farm and abbey.
you can defintely bag some decent shots from anywhere around there.

cadwell got some excellent ones at the gt aswell,from similar locations!

Thanks for the info. Guess I'll be there just for the experience - as the best motor racing I've seen before, has been the Australian V8 Supercars series.

Haha so the stands it is :)

A friend and his mate might be flying in by helicopter, so could get a ride in. Been a while since I've flown in a heli :D

Turns out I can't do that. But it was worth the hype, :lol:
