I was wondering how bad the shutter lag is on the D30. I shoot skateboarding and it's prety fast paced so i need instant shutter response. Since I'm on a low budget this is the cheapest DSLR I can afford, unless someone could suggest another used camera for me.

Do you mean D30 or 300D aka DRebel? If DRebel -- it's almost instantaneous (I believe technicall it's 0.6 seconds).

Snicket- The D30 was the first true DSLR offered by Canon. It has its faults but I have seen truly beautiful stuff from it !!

I made motorsports (rally) with a D30, no problem with shutter lag.
