I don't really like it. I won't go into why background is not ok now, but I will focus just to kid on rollers and "motion". Personally I prefer sharp athlete with blurred background. It works better, even though sometimes your option works good too. BUT! :)
At least for my taste, kid is not blurred enough, so for me it looks like wrong chosen shutter time. Time was either too long, to get sharp photo of skater, or too short to get real motion blur.
This for example is one of my photos (http://www.photo.si/photo_show1.php?imn=s_cycling_060924nw_0210.jpg), done your way, but with longer time, so you can see more of motion blur.

PS: Of course that's just my personal opinion, so someone else can easily disagree with me :)

I would have to agree in that I would prefer the skater to be sharp with the background blurred. I would also like to see a slighter tighter crop as the corner of the platform is dominating the image.

I actually really like the picture you took, I was a little iffy on how long of a SS to choose for this because I didn't know how much blur I really wanted.

We will be going back so I'll change up some shutter speeds and see how they all work out.

Thanks!
