Hi everyone!!! Glad that the forum is back.

I would like to know your Thoughts about this Tripod:
SUNPAK Platinum Plus 74" Heavy-Duty, available at Best Buy.

I own a Digital Rebel with Battery Grip and plan to use it in vertical posistion a lot.

Sorry, tried unsuccesfully to Paste a short-cut to it's web site.

Thanks a lot.

Here's the link (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=1058188139866&skuId=5656462&type=product).

I can't help you with how the tripod is, sorry, except to say it looks pretty sturdy to me.

I think you should look at a tripod that lets you do low level work. I do not like the adjusting lever, its more for camcorders. I prefer ball heads, they give you flexability.

Bogen has one for about $98.00 at B&H.

If you do a lot of photography, consider the Manfrotto/Bogen 3021B-PRO legs and 3047 (3-way pan) head...it's a great investment. I've never gone back to my lighter-weight tripods since. Choice of 3-way pan-tilt or ball head will depend on what type of photography you are doing.

Yes, the 3021Pro are excellent legs, very sturdy and not expensive. I have the 141RC head which I really do like mounted on those legs. Great combo.
