my cat scruffy.
Shots taken with canon 400d - canon 60mm macro lens - canon mt-24ex with 2x gary fong diffusers .No crop.
i set iso 400 f/10 shutter speed 125..with them settings i was underexposing by 1 hole stop.I then fired using the flash on TTL mode which gave a sort of fill flash effect.
u can see how i had the flash heads as u can see them in her eyes..

Superb shot!
If I may ask, what do you think of the 60 macro vs the 100 on the crop cameras?

I have both the 60m and 100mm and they are both excellent lenses. I use the 60mm a lot and am currently giving the 100mm an airing as I havent used it for a long time.
The 60mm is lighter than the 100mm so is really easy to use and you can get right up close on your subject.
The 100mm is heavier of course but will give you that little bit extra working distance if you need it.
Swings and roundabouts with both of them but if price is an issue, I would recommend getting the 60mm first as its cheaper, then save up and get the 100mm. It also depends very much on what you want to photograph.

Thanks for the replies.
In general, it would be used mostly for product type shots and for ring and other detail shots at weddings with the odd flowers thrown in. I probably wouldn't do much with insects, but you never know!
Price is definitely an issue at the moment. I know the canon 60 is a great piece of glass, but have also been wondering about the sigma 70 and whether or not the canon 50 would be ok for my planned uses.

Well I personally would forget about the 50mm, I cant comment on the Sigma 70, but the Canon 60mm would be perfect for those sort of shots and also portrait shots if you so wished - it takes beautiful flower shots.
