I'm wondering if all PC cords and connections are the same. For instace, can I use my 550 on manual mode with a Mamiya 645? Never dealt with PC cords before... :-/

The 550 EX does not have a connector for a PC cord.

On the camera end, all PC connectors are the same. But not necessarily on the flash end. THe 550EX doesn't have a PC cord built into it so you'd have to buy one if you want to use it with the Mamiya.

Another quick Q.... I went to the camera shop today, and they had 2 PC adapters... one was a straight up connection, and the other was a voltage regulator. The guy didnt sound too sure about which wouldnt fry my camera or flash. Would a generic one work? Or should, and I'm thinkin so, just invest in the Canon made one?

If you plan to use any other flash with an unknown trigger voltage, get the regulator.

Steveo31, happen to remember price and brand of the one with voltage regulator? I'm looking for one and I only find one from Wein and one from Olympus and they cost more than I think they should. ($50-70)
