Which cactus trigger, V1, V2, V3? Whats the diff?

Ok so i'm about to choose a ebay trigger but which one?

Whats the difference between V1 and V2? Obviously V3 is the 16 channel but iv seen the V1 for around $15 and the V2 for about $28.

I would also want to do the mods on these.

Whats the difference and what do you guys suggest?

Can you tell us which flash you are using? V1 seems to be outdated now as it has been superseded with v2.
I just got this set (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170212576922) of v2s. Make sure you check the compatible flashes listed and that should be the one you get. v2 is the latest and v2s for 580exII.
Be aware that the 430ex has had many complaints of incompatibility on this board.

They're just newer versions, and AFAIK there's no Cactus/Gadget Infinity V3. I have V2 hotshoe triggers, they work. I have V1 studio triggers, they work too. Neither are as reliable as a good brand product, and you often need to mod them by at least adding an aerial to get them working properly.

I got mine from www.gadgetinfinity.com but you can get em on ebay too. Hong Kong's easier for me than ebay.

I have a 550 ex but I want to get a sunpak or two. Yes there is no V3 i was using that to describe the 16 channel ones on ebay. Im going to get the ebay trigger to break into the off camera flash world since there cheap.

16 channel ones are V1, just FYI.

So what's the difference other than
V2 use CR2 battery while V1(16channel) uses 2AA batteries.

V2 has hot shoe attached already so you don't have to get additional hotshoe.

Actually there is also a V2s, which is the current version. I believe this is the version GI brought out to address the compatibility issues that were apparent with the V2 version, esp with the Canon flash series...although some still experience problems with the 430ex.

I don't think there is any need to buy a V2 rather than a V2s unless the new version is not compatible with your flash, which I don't think would be the case unless you have an much older flash.

it's good coz it uses 2AA batteries.
