What mode do you use most at weddings? Like when you see a shot just pop up and you don't have much time to adjust settings, do you click it into P? Or do you prefer to stay in Av most of the time if the light is pretty good? Or do you constantly sit and fiddle with manual? Do you keep your flash on the whole wedding?

If the ISO is reasonable and light is constant, I tend to go for Av.

If it is the parties, I go for full manual to let me control the lot.

Im not pro but tend to make an effort when I visit a wedding :)

Like when you see a shot just pop up and you don't have much time to adjust settings, When I first shot events, we didn't have Av & Tv, & I didn't just wander around waiting for a "see a shot just pop up" situation to happen. If I saw the light changing, I'd change my settings ahead of time, usually using this:

How the subject affects the exposure & why manual keeps me worry free: Post #47 (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpost.php?p=5191658&postcount=47)

If I was using flash, See post #3 (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpost.php?p=4486721&postcount=3)

Indoors I stay in manual mode all the time..the setting that usually works for me for any shot that "pops up" is ISO 400 f/5.6 or 4 at 1/100 or 1/60..I am not that steady so I never go below 1/60...I bounce whenever I can so I always keep my camera at +1 FEC (flash exposure compensation) no matter what room it is in..when moving outdoors I switch everything to AV mode and FEC down to normal..just takes a few seconds and point the flash forward.

Manual pretty much the entire time. The only thing I let my camera control is my Autofocus and maybe my FEC on my flashgun.
