I left pictage.com about a month ago b/c they messed up a few orders of mine and became too expensive. They did though correct their mistakes and handled everything in a professional manner. I will say that. Overall it was a good experience but it was going to cost me more money to stay with them.

So today i get a call with someone trying to purchase the images. I don't have a pictage account any longer so I don't have a way to display my images.

Going to that person's house is an option and may be the easiest... but does anyone know a possible solution to either:

1) displaying images on a website and having them available to order at my mark-up and then still have the money routed to me

2) a website that will display the images but prevent a person from copying/pasting the image onto their computer.

thanks for your time!!

www.photoreflect.com Free to store images and unlimited space..they hope you set up to sell your images thru them to one of their labs but you don't have to..I have my clients go there to view their images and send me the check and image id numbers they want prints of...when you upload your images to them they put the word PROOF on the image automatically, also free and you cannot download them..if they try to do screen prints then the word PROOF is all across the image..
After you sign up download Darkroom Web Edition for free also and get started...

This is virtually impossible. If they want the image they can get it. Maybe not at the resolution and size that they want but you can still get it. Watermarking will help but I recommend more than just the name in the corner. I put the word proof in the middle of mine in a lower opacity that is opaque to begin with. If they want to spend the time to clone this out then they really do need it more than I do. I also put my name in the corner and I have an action that will do all of this in one pass.

If you are really overly worried about this the only guarantee is to not put them on the internet.

So with photobiz, is it a "proofing" website until you pay for the premium account ($150 "one time fee.") Or can you have a customer order your prints when using their minimum package (storing 200 photos online for $15). If i can get something that shows the photos and prints them, then that's excellent.

If it's just a proofing site (with the $15 membership) that's fine, I can leave them for proofing on photobiz and print via Mpix. Does that sound like a good plan?

Its mainly a proofing site. Itransact has partnered with photobiz and they run the merchant part. It really is a great setup. I rarley have any issues but when I do they are very fast and easy to work with. And they continue to add features and make the site better !

I personally prefer to have control over submitting the orders so I place the orders via mpix or millers depending on the event/products

I have just started using instaproofs for hosting my images and sales. So far so good. Takes a little getting used to their interface but the price is right... Free... They do take 10% of all sales and they handle the CC fees etc.
