Hi all,

I have posted 4 pictures that demonstrate the workflow that I now use after days and days of struggling and reading. Comments are encouraged.

I think you've overdone the levels at the last stage. The image has become very dark and a lot of detail on the roof and foliage has disappeared.

If you have PS7, you'd be better off using auto color. This doesn't work every time, but will usually work OK for most images in a batch. If I am working on images one at a time, I usually got to Levels>Options where I have everything to choose between auto contrast/levels/color, gray point and black and white point adjustments, and can also adjust colour casts.

Thanks Roger, now in daylight it is indeed a little too dark. LAst night (at 2am) it looked great and even splendid after a drink.
Started to use the auto color feature and it works well most of the time as you said. I'll keep on trying!
