Hi Guys,

Just ordered my G9 to replace my 350d :) (i no longer want/need an SLR)

I have a few questions on what else to buy-

The SC DC55A case looks good, what do you think? Is there a better option?

I think my 350d batteries are the same so i'm covered there.

Any cards that you recommend?...i'll probably buy a couple of 4gb.

I've seen the grip that people have on here, are their any other accessories/add ons?

Thankyou

Smiffy

The leather case is great. Nothing else was needed by me. Keep it simple and do not start adding a lot of adapter stuff to an elegant camera.

As far as the cards go do they need to be of a certain speed/quality like CF cards?

Also does anyone know of a portable storage device that i can put an SD card straight into?

There is a debate on weather the g9 needs a faster read write card. I personally have use a normal blue sandisk 4 gig and a few 1 gigs. the only Differnce i have noticed well playing around with the faster read write speeds is the upload speed to your comp. I noticed very little differnce in write speed to the camera once you snap a pic.
with a 4 gig sd, i get 230 RAW pics, and around 200 i belive raw+ jpeg.
As for a small portable storage ive seen this product recommened ALOT in the forum, i have not used it, so i can comment Directly on it. However i do Want it.

There has indeed been some argument and I did notice a difference :D

BTW when shooting in JPG there is no difference noticeable.

wow for that cost I would buy a couple of more flash cards, weights less and takes less space.

On the point of accessories: start with as little as possible. Though I can recommend the grip+lensmate as it gives a more natural grip (I always tried to hold the G9 under the lens, resulting that it often got grimy with fingerprints.

Ive never trusted flash memory for a storage device.
Thanks for the stop watch test. I guess i should have included continous shooting mode.
