wasn't sure if this was the correct section. All C&C always welcome. Proper exposure is kinda tuff with this kinda work because of the split second light changes and flickers of flare of the nature of welding.

It is best to switch to manual when taking this sort of photos. Nice job nonetheless, I like #2 better. What is he making anyway? They look like Keith Haring figurines...

all EXIF intact.. I shoot Manual 99.9% of the time

How did you not go blind from the welder's glare? I think it came out very well, especially in that tough environment as was mentioned earlier. --Joe

You only go blind by looking right into it, he probably looked away and snapped the shot when he saw the blue.

I really like #2. great job. for some reason it kinda reminds me of jason from friday the 13th.

by using a CP it reduced the harsh glare considerably

that takes a while to do.... usually you just get dots... :rolleyes:

I'll buck the trend....

I like the way the first one features the welder more prominently (no, I'm not a welder in my other life) as the craftsman for whatever he's making. It's my pick of the two.

I second the thoughts about it being difficult to shoot - especially if you wanted to pick up any color other than blue/white. Nice work.
