Does anyone know why the AI Focus feature is not available on 1DmkIII?

AI Focus determines whether you want AI Servo or One Shot algorithmically, and not all that well at that.
I would imagine Canon decided that the users of the camera understand the two basic AF modes well enough to be able to decide themselves.
This question belongs in the EOS forum, btw.

because AI focus is something to try to get beginners to use if they dont know if they need single shot or servo. Also AI focus doesnt work for crap anyway. Thats why its not on any 1D's

AI Focus is crap therefore AI Focus is not there. Take note there are no "sport", "portrait", or "landscape" modes either.

That's quite made sense.Initially I thought AI Focus would be nice if you can'r predict when the subject would move or not.

Use back-button focus and then you can turn on and off focus at will :-D

or AF-On button, since canon so graciously added it in both landscape and portrait mode
